A. Do you mean an absolute right to go through life without a name or anyone else remembering anything about you to identify you by? Of course not because it would be impossible to guarantee or enforce or administer. Do you have a right to anonymity in certain transactions? I believe the case law says yes on that, but the scope is limited.

What do u think about gossip mongers that hide behind the anonymity of the Internet?
Q. First there were pictures of Obama with a turban on and now people have suggested that Sarah Palin's relatively young son is actually her daughter's. I know nothing about either of these things, but would like to know what you think???

A. Political mud has been flung for many years. The rumor mill is ripe with it every year. They do it to confuse people and misdirect voters to the real issue of electing the right person for the job. McCain knows he can't possibly win so his camp is gearing up with Republican mongering. I don't pay any attention to it. Gossip in a more personal way is unnecessary and wrong. It'll come back to bite the person in the end.

why does anonymity on the internet make some people nasty while others remain fair and decent?
Q. anyone can assume an imaginary name, and go on rampage mistreating people. Some, however, chose not to go down that road. What makes the difference?
Asked by Aziz - Sat Jan 5 04:45:21 2008 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Those who are regularly insulting rather than fair and objective have poor social skills. They use the internet because it's safe, and they're much less vulnerable to the problems they have socially.

Given your anonymity, how many of you would honestly choose a newborn pet over an adopted one? Why?
Q. I am trying to encourage animal adoptions to prevent over breeding and animal abuse/ abandonment. Honest answers are imperative to obtain an accurate consensus. If I can find out why people would rather have a newborn and hear their own preferences or concerns about adoptions, then possibly, I can develop an approach to meet such apprehensions with a reassuring and very gratifying alternative.

A. Proxies leak info and IP addresses and are trivial to block. Get yourself a Personal VPN that encrypts your entire network connection and does not leak info. Plus it never gets blocked.

Would YA be better or worse without the anonymity?
Q. A lot of people here seem to ask questions, rate people, and answer questions with a kind of fearlessness that comes from the anonymity of the service. All things considered, would the service be better without that anonymity? Why, or why not?

A. anonymity protects us there are some people who do not take being told they are wrong well. Even if you offer up a new viewpoint, they take extreme offense Would you want the crazy few to know where you live the anonymity also allows Kids and others to seek help from us, when there is no one else -- and allows us to be totally honest as we hide behind the mask of our Avatars Anonymity allows Yahoo Answers to exist - Many would quickly leave without an Avatar to protect them. It allows you to say anything within the guidelines. How many questions or answers would not be here if, everyone around you in the real world knew about it. Teachers or neighbours asking why you said that. Good enough arguement for you??

A. I use a software/service from this company called PrivacyView Software. I am not in the business so I don't know the specifics of what you are looking for but it is online privacy/anonymity so I guess that should help. I noticed the affiliate section when downloading some of their products, but again the affiliate thing isn't my area of expertise.

A. I understand the sentiments regarding men being falsely accused by some scheming women, the problem would be in changing the law is that burglars etc. who have been falsely accused could then demand anonymity also. There have been just as many men who's lives have been ruined by false allegations of burglary as there are men falsely accused of rape. I think the answer is in tightening up the rules of the prosecution when faced with allegations of rape.

Do you think that men accused of rape should be granted anonymity until after the trial finishes?
Q. I've heard several stories of men being falsely accused of rape, and eventually being acquitted, but still having their lives ruined due to the fact that they were named in the media. Supposed victims of rape recieve anonymity, but should the accused also be granted this?
Asked by frostyismad - Tue Dec 26 09:36:47 2006 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Actually, I think ANYONE accused of ANY crime should receive anonymity until after the trial. I understand the "freedom of press" issue, but so many accused are "guilty until proven innocent" because of the media. I think that this can ultimately interfere with the ability of the accused to have a fair trial.

I have the best solution: They offer full 100% support for Youtube, Metacafe, BlackPlanet, Hi5, MySpace, FaceBook, or Xanga and other social sites.Give us a try and see the difference and surf the web much safer with Proxy Pluto or BlacksProxy They can Bypass schools, and ip addresses are changed every hour. I'm in Greece, but I want the Internet to think I'm in England. Is there an advanced anonymity tool for this?
Q. I've currently installed Tor, but I'm not convinced it's doing much at all. Google always knows I'm in Greece (though I supposed Tor never promised more than that). Is there another tool I can install where I can specify a country of origin for the IP?
Asked by Shant - Wed Dec 26 05:29:34 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. To accomplish this, you will need to use a proxy in England. A simple definition of a proxy is a redirector. You will send all of your request TO the proxy, and the proxy will load all of the information you wish to see through its system. There are a number of proxies world wide. Most will be anonymous proxies setup to mask the identification of the individual doing the web browsing (hence the name anonymous!) If you are a Unix / Linux person and have a system setup in England, there are a number of open source proxy applications you can configure at your home that will allow you to do all of your Internet activity through the proxy on your box.

Why do so many Yahoo Answers participants hide behind anonymity?
Q. It would be so nice sometimes to be able to exchange views [off line?] with intelligent people. It is so frustrating to look up so many person's profiles to find they are uncontactable. How do those who ARE contactable feel? I think it should be a requirement for inclusion at level4 and above that there is a contact mechanism in place. What do you think?
Asked by SouthOckendon - Sat Nov 18 05:48:33 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Maybe if only level fours could contact each other and on up to level seven that is. I received a lot of e-mail from someone trying to harass me. Needless to say I had to turn my e-mail contact off for a week or so. But it is back on now. I can understand why people turn it off, but a lot of people do hide behind anonymity.
