Anonymous web browsing is browsing the World Wide Web while hiding the user's IP address and any other personally identifiable information from the websites that one is visiting.

A degree of anonymity can be achieved by using a proxy server or a VPN server. If the proxy server is trusted, anonymity will be retained because only the information on the proxy server is visible to outsiders. Anonymous web browsing is generally useful to internet users who want to ensure that their sessions can not be monitored. For instance, it is used to circumvent traffic monitoring by organizations which want to find out or control which web sites employees visit.

Anonymous Web Servers act as placing a wall between the user and the website which he/she is visiting. These servers can be used to bypass restrictions and visit those sites that might be blocked in a specific country, office or school. Some people only use these servers to protect their on line identity.

A. You can do that at home. Bypassing your school's internet filters is a violation of their internet use policy and will get you suspended or revoked with your internets access.

Can my ISP know when exactly i am 'private browsing'?
Q. Firefox3.5 and later, and other browsers provide "Private Browsing," which allows you to browse the Internet without the browser retaining any of data about which sites and pages you have visited, which includes- Web cache files,Visited pages,Form and Search Bar entries,Passwords,Downloa d List entries and Cookies. However they also state that " Private Browsing is not a tool to keep you anonymous from websites or your ISP". So my ISP can know the pages i have visited. But will my ISP know exactly (the time) when i'm on 'private browsing' mode?

A. Private browsing is LOCAL setting. It's supposed to make your browser "NOT remember" what you did. It has nothing to do with your ISP. By the way, have you tried using something like Ccleaner AFTER so called Private Browsing? CCleaner finds and cleans a bunch of things, that should not be there since your browser 'doesn't remember" them. Looks like it does not work as advertised.

can't access my msn and hotmail via my work network?
Q. i used to use web anynomous web browsing (proxy sites) coz at work they blocked personal mail and chat softwares and now when the hotmail page appear seconds and it disappear and give me the below message : "WARNING: SSL not supported, entering non-anonymous area! This proxy as installed does not support SSL, i.e. URLs that start with "https://". To support SSL, the proxy administrator needs to install the Net::SSLeay Perl module, and then this proxy will automatically support SSL (the CGIProxy site has more info). In the meantime, any browsing to an "https://" URL will be directly from your browser, and no longer anonymous." i really need my hotmail and my msn at work and now not working plz help me guys thanks.
