Nouncomputers
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A computer is a programmable machine that receives input, stores and manipulates data//information, and provides output in a useful format. While a computer can, in theory, be made out of almost anything (see misconceptions section), and mechanical examples of computers have existed through much of recorded human history, the first electronic computers were developed in the mid-20th century (1940–1945). Originally, they were the size of a large room, consuming as much power as several hundred modern personal computers (PCs). Modern computers based on integrated circuits are millions to billions of times more capable than the early machines, and occupy a fraction of the space. Simple computers are small enough to fit into mobile devices, and can be powered by a small battery. Personal computers in their various forms are icons of the Information Age and are what most people think of as "computers". However, the embedded computers found in many devices from MP3 players to fighter aircraft and from toys to industrial robots are the most numerous. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How to make your computer boot up like the library computers? Q. The computers at my library make it so you can install anything and download stuff but when the computer is restarted everything is back to the original stuff and it is clean. Is there software or something to do this? Asked by yahqq_man - Mon Jun 7 13:35:54 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. That would use a specialized disk-protection program that is set to reverse ANY changes that occurs on the hard drive and reset it back during restart or logout. ome examples of such programs include Deep Freeze and Clean Slate. Q. i have to computers next to each other, one has a wireless adapter for the internet and the other one does not. How would i be able to connect the computer that does not have an adapter to the one that does so that they can be both connected to the internet. I do not have a laptop. After you connect them, go to your Network Connections and right click on your Local Area Connection and select Properties. Click the Advanced tab and you should now see a little tick box that says "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." Q. Here's the situation: I have a modem which have 4 connections. 1 of them is connected to a wireless router and 3 others to computers. When I connect to the router, I can see the workgroup computers of others who use wireless. However, I can't see the workgroup computers of those connected to the modem. Any way to solve this? Asked by wwwdrecom - Thu Apr 23 01:00:55 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. you might want to try switching your connections around, try connecting the computers to the router and connect the modem to the port on the router specifically for modems (IE: a linksys router has a modem connection to the left of the other ones, separate). Also, if this isn't your problem, make sure all the computers are in the same workgroup.
