How can I recreate the installation CD for Microsoft Office 2000 with just the Program files?
Q. I installed the program a few years ago. Recently I copied all of the files that weren't corrupted off the CD. Then I accidentally snapped the CD in half. How can i recreate the registry? (I have the program files) I already tried rerunning the installation with what I have but i get an error...

A. You can't. I tried that after misplacing my Office 2003 CD. You simply can't compile all the files needed because they are scattered all over the hard disk. You don't know which .dll files are needed, etc. And how do you "accidentally" snap a CD in half?

I have programs I have uninstalled, but the files are still showing in my "program files" folder?
Q. I just got my lap top fixed and I am going through and cleaning out all the old programs, Running Windows XP. I have uninstalled all that I can through the add/remove programs area. When I go into the program files folder, there are still folders there, but most have nothing in them. The ones that do, do not have an uninstall file. Can I just delete these folders?

A. Yep, just delete them. If you un-installed the program, the files are useless, taking up space. So deleting them won't hurt anything. Be careful though, some programs rely on others to run properly. Or some files need a program to be used. I don't know what programs they are, but sometimes those files that are left behind are there to keep another program running right. The ones that are just empty folder's, delete them, they are taking up space. But ones that have a few files in them, see what program they are and what files they are. Then make sure other programs you are still using doesn't rely on them.
